JOB DESCRIPTION
The primary responsibility of this individual is to work with multidisciplinary teams (both internal and external) in the operational management of Tallgrass’ CO 2 sequestration and gas storage projects.
Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Conduct well log / petrophysical analysis.
- Conduct reservoir characterization analysis.
- Develop geologic and petrophysical models.
- Support reservoir simulation efforts.
- Support compliance team in maintenance of all applicable subsurface permits.
- Assess and analyze a variety of regional stratigraphy.
- Gain/express proficiency with the Class VI permit process as it relates to the geologic assessment, development and operation of CO 2 sequestration projects.
- Support Tallgrass’ natural gas storage projects as needed.
- Interpret 2D and 3D seismic data.
- Mentor junior staff as needed.
- Proficiency/familiarity with common geologic software suites such as Petra, Petrel, etc.
- Provide onsite geological support as needed (drilling, logging, core analysis, etc.).
Minimum requirements:
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Geology, Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline (Master’s degree preferred).
- A minimum of 10 yrs of service supporting geological technical efforts in the assessment and development of CO 2 Sequestration, hydrocarbon production and/or natural gas storage.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, MS Project, and Outlook.
- Must be able to take direction from supervisor(s), keep required work schedule, focus attention on details, and follow work rules.
- Ability to take on additional tasks and shift priorities on short notice.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong focus on safe work practices.
- Able to complete work assignments with moderate supervision in an acceptable timeframe.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Aptitude and interest in learning and leveraging new programs to accomplish tasks.
- Must be able to perform all essential and marginal functions of the job.

- The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, including credit report for certain positions, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.
