What this Department does:
The Business Analyst groups provide a variety of analytical services that support and promote the gas services department, including but not limited to analysis in the following areas: Financial (forecast support), Invoicing, Contracts Administration, Regulatory and systems/IT (reporting and system user). Tallgrass seeks a highly skilled SQL Reporting Intern to develop and support our growing analytics needs as an infrastructure company.

What You'll Do
In this role, you will be responsible for creating SQL views that will be leveraged for customer-facing reports. These views will replace aging reports that no longer satisfy the business needs. You will work directly with a team of mentors that will educate you on the business mechanics of the natural gas industry. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to gain valuable experience in SQL reporting and business process implementation.

Experience/Specific Knowledge
Our internships are temporary full-time positions, in-person/remote hybrid at our Lakewood, CO. office. We will host our Summer 2025 interns from May-August for 10 weeks.

- Develops, designs, and optimizes SQL queries to create custom views for reporting.
- Be able to give and receive feedback on requirements or code reviews and accurately apply comments/feedback.
- Participate in SQL modernization projects.
What you will bring:
Education
Currently pursuing an accredited degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field with an expected graduation date of December 2024-December 2025
Experience/Specific Knowledge
- Coursework or experience in SQL technology
- Coursework or experience in SQL BI Developments (SSRS/PowerBI/MSSQL)
- Coursework or familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)
- Ability to work independently on projects and within a remote team environment.
- Ability to execute assigned projects within established deadlines.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated and eager to contribute.
- Proficient in SQL.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

- Pay Range $26.29-30.04 USD hourly
- You may be eligible for a stipend to subsidize housing costs
- The final pay for this role will depend on a variety of factors, including a specific candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and working location. The total compensation package for this role may also include overtime pay, paid time off, a housing stipend, and more.
