Position: Business Intelligence (BI) Developer

We are seeking an experienced BI Developer to create and manage our reporting and analytics. Collaborating with other team members, you’ll be responsible for extracting, transforming, and loading data into Power BI. Our ideal candidate is highly skilled in information technology and equipped with excellent problem-solving and leadership abilities. Fluency in multiple programming languages is a must, along with significant knowledge of database design, T-SQL, data warehousing, business intelligence, and enterprise service bus architecture.

Responsibilities

As a Business Intelligence / Reporting Lead, you will:

• Define and advocate for best practices in the visual delivery of information through effective reporting and visualization techniques.
• Lead the development of strategic reporting and visualization assets that support key program initiatives.
• Collaborate with corporate IT to define and deliver a technology platform that supports ad-hoc and enterprise reporting needs.
• Design Power BI deployment architecture, including workspaces, data security, report delivery, model refresh, and governance.
• Ensure data governance, data quality, and adherence to best practices.
• Design, build, and maintain sophisticated reports and interactive dashboards using BI tools.
• Develop compelling visualizations to communicate insights from data analysis and AI initiatives.
• Work closely with various business units to understand data requirements and translate them into meaningful and actionable information.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data through thorough validation and testing processes.
• Provide training and support to business users on the effective use of reporting tools and dashboards.
• Keep abreast of the latest trends and advancements in BI technology and data visualization techniques.

Qualifications

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Advanced Degree preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related field, with a strong portfolio demonstrating proficiency in BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
• Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, SQL, and data modeling.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and educate stakeholders on data-driven insights.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities in guiding and mentoring team members and leading cross-functional initiatives.

Additional Technical Requirements

• Experience with Microsoft Business Intelligence Stack: Including SSAS (SQL Server Analysis Services), SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services), and SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services).
• Proficiency in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions): Essential for creating complex calculations and measures within Power BI.
• Knowledge of Power Query: For data transformation and preparation.
• Experience with Data Integration: Ability to integrate data from various sources, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
• Familiarity with ETL Processes: Understanding of Extract, Transform, Load processes to manage data flow.
• Advanced Data Modeling Skills: Including the creation of tabular and multidimensional models.
• Security Implementation: Experience with implementing row-level security and other data protection measures.
• Scripting and Programming Languages: Knowledge of languages such as Python, JavaScript, and CSS can be beneficial.
• Performance Optimization: Skills in optimizing data models and reports for better performance.
