Role
The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services for the company. The buyer ensures that all purchases meet the company's quality standards and budgetary requirements.
Essential Functions
- Identify potential suppliers and evaluate their offerings in terms of quality, cost and delivery timelines.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure long-term partnerships.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure the best possible deals.
- Place purchase orders and follow up to ensure timely delivery.
- Manage and resolve any issues related to orders.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with departments to maintain stock levels.
- Implement inventory control measures to reduce excess and obsolete stock.
- Work within budgetary constraints and contribute to cost saving initiatives.
- Analyze spending patterns and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- Assess and monitor supplier performance, including delivery times, quality and reliability.
- Conduct regular reviews of supplier performance.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier communications.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure alignment of procurement activates with company goals.
