What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host/Busser position at Tally's Silver Spoon?
Tally's in Rapid City is looking for a warm, friendly and reliable person who is quick on their feet to join the team as the Host/Busser.
In this role you will split your duties between minding the host stand and greeting and accommodating guests as they arrive at the restaurant and assisting the servers with bussing tables, filling beverages, and ensuring that the dining floor continues to turn over smoothly.
As the Busser/Host you will be trained in both jobs and will be scheduled either as an "server assistant (busser)" or host for different shifts during the week.
We currently need coverage during the mornings and afternoons, so Monday-Friday AM to early afternoon availability is a must!
Responsibilities:
- Greet and seat guests in a friendly and professional manner
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and promptly
- Provide excellent customer service by anticipating and fulfilling guest needs
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of orders
- Assist with food preparation and plating as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas
- Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests with professionalism and efficiency
- Process payments and provide accurate change to guests
Experience:
- Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Familiarity with banquet or event service is a plus
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
- Strong multitasking skills to handle multiple tables and tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Skills:
- Excellent customer service skills to provide a positive dining experience for guests
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with guests and team members
- Knowledge of food handling and preparation techniques to ensure food safety standards are met
- Ability to assist with bussing tables and maintaining cleanliness in the dining area
- Familiarity with hotel operations is a plus
