What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Specialist position at Talon Concrete & Aggregates?
Objective:
Position is responsible for processing Accounts Payable for all Concrete and Aggregates companies. This position will provide day to day support for Management, Sales, Operations and Dispatch.
Organization Structure:
This position reports to the Accounting Supervisor who reports to the Shared Services Manager.
Nature and Scope:
Incumbent will provide support for the wholly owned subsidiaries of Eagle Materials which is based in Dallas, TX. These companies operate ready mix concrete and aggregate operations, market and sell fly ash, and operate a materials laboratory.
Job Responsibilities:
- Tracking and matching all Raw Material receivers to invoices
- Tracking and matching Operating Expense receivers to POs and invoices
- Data entry of vendor invoices into AP system
- Review, research, and resolve vendor statement issues
- Process weekly AP check run
- Process vendor maintenance requests
- Any other duties as assigned by Management
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in accounting; or combination of education and experience
- Experience in Ready Mix business a plus
- 1-3 years’ accounting experience
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Strong organizational and critical thinking skills a must
- Ability to be a team player and interact with all people in the organization
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft applications
