Responsibilities and Duties
- Health and Safety: Assist in the implementation and compliance of safety program to ensure personnel are working in a safe manner, in accordance with policies and procedures. Ensure all aspects of his/her role are executed in a safe manner. Obey safety guidelines when on construction sites and at Quicksilver and Talon operations. Ensure that employees, equipment and processes meet or exceed the OSHA and Company guidelines, standards and advisories. Pursue a culture of safety that is best in class with an objective of “Zero” injuries or incidents. Actively engage with the employees to reinforce safe behaviors.
- Environment: Establish environmental policies and processes and recognizes environmental compliance as a priority at the site. Ensure regulations are met or exceeded by following best practices.
- Operations Strategy: Provide direct oversight in the processing, storage, and shipping of concrete at the plant. Embrace best practices, processes and tools to ensure plant activities are optimized and costs are best in class. Effectively utilize maintenance programs to maximize plant up-time and manage costs. Ensure optimal operations and maintenance of all fixed and mobile equipment.
- Operations Analysis and Action Tracking: Effectively utilizes KPIs, financial statements and operational reports to track performance, establish effective action plans and continuously improve the operations. Use available reports effectively to measure quality, identify variances and establish corrective action.
- Plant Image: Maintain the plant in accordance with stated guidelines for plant image. Plant image includes housekeeping, parts storage, vehicles and equipment condition (cleanliness and appearance), entrance/property, and buildings.
- HR/Coaching & Mentoring: Manage all direct reports to achieve success. Responsible for effective recruitment, merit/recognition, development, disciplinary actions and terminations on site.
- Inventory Management: Closely manage inventory requirements at the site through frequent coordination with the suppliers, performance and accounting.
- Quality: Understand the value of quality and ensure processes are in place to provide a quality product to our customers. Utilize best practices of production and delivery.
Qualification and Skills
- Bachelors Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Business Management; will consider experience in lieu of degree
- Five years of related industry experience
- Must be flexible and balance shifting priorities to meet deadlines
- Excellent leadership skills – must be able to motivate others and provide complete, direct and actionable feedback
- Possess a commitment and willingness to devote great effort and time in order to reach goals
- Ability to make decisions in a timely manner, sometimes with incomplete data and under tight deadlines and pressure
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills and the desire to seek solutions
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
