Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join the team in Greenville, South Carolina. This role will lead and design for heavy industrial projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams. Develop and review key electrical documentation, align design activities with project schedules, and conduct site visits to support client teams.
What you will do
- Lead electrical engineering and design for heavy industrial projects
- Apply expertise in the National Electrical Code, electrical distribution systems, hazardous area classifications, grounding, and lighting design
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to define project scope and coordinate engineering activities
- Develop, review, and finalize key electrical documentation, including load lists, single-line diagrams, grounding/lighting plans, cable lists, and electrical equipment specifications
- Work with project schedules to align electrical design activities with other disciplines
- Review vendor documentation to determine electrical scope and design requirements
- Conduct site visits to gather field data and work directly with client electrical teams
What you will bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- Ability to obtain PE registration
- Minimum 10 years in electrical engineering, preferably in consulting
- Extensive experience in heavy industrial projects
- Strong understanding of P&IDs, general arrangements, and process equipment lists
- Experience working with AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to lead electrical project teams (engineers and designers)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience mentoring junior engineers
