We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team and contribute to our growth and success. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing automation cells and general assembly machinery, collaborating with project managers, tool builders, and customers.
About the Role:
This role involves providing project leadership, driving all aspects of design, and ensuring that machine specifications are met while being cost-effective. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, GD&T, and NAAMS assembly tooling standards, as well as excellent communication and project management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead designers, detailers, and QC personnel to ensure timely project delivery
- Review designs with customers to ensure compliance with specifications and cost-effectiveness
- Manage design timelines and resources to meet current and upcoming work demands
- Meet with suppliers to gather technical information and buy off designs based on their specifications and recommendations
- Research and stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and automation trends
- Assist with quoting upcoming projects
Requirements:
- B.S degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred) or equivalent education or work experience
- 5 years of Mechanical design experience
- 5 years of experience with GD&T and NAAMS assembly tooling standards
- Proficient in SolidWorks, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project)
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
