About the Role:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing automation cells and general assembly machinery, collaborating with project managers, tool builders, and customers. This role involves providing project leadership, driving all aspects of design, and ensuring that machine specifications are met while being cost-effective.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead designers, detailers, and QC personnel to ensure timely project delivery
- Review designs with customers to ensure compliance with specifications and cost-effectiveness
- Manage design timelines and resources to meet current and upcoming work demands
- Meet with suppliers to gather technical information and buy off designs based on their specifications and recommendations
- Research and stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and automation trends
- Assist with quoting upcoming projects
Requirements:
- B.S degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred) or equivalent education or work experience
- 5 years of Mechanical design experience
- 5 years of experience with GD&T and NAAMS assembly tooling standards
- Proficient in SolidWorks, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project)
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
