Our client is looking for a Senior Director of Operations who will be responsible for leading and directing the function of Operations across the business to include manufacturing, production control, outside processing, tooling, and equipment. This person will develop and execute strategies to achieve operational objectives for daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual metrics. They will find opportunities to create operations capacity across the business to set up the business for growth. Duties involve directing the Operations organization on a daily basis to ensure the execution of the company business plan while simultaneously implementing continuous improvement initiatives that will deliver long term benefits.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee all operational functions, including design engineering, manufacturing engineering, supply chain, production, and quality assurance.
  • Lead a team of up to six direct reports. Responsibilities include hiring, performance evaluation, coaching, and supporting professional development.
  • Monitor company revenue, margins, and conduct budget reviews to drive profitability.
  • Analyze and optimize manufacturing workflows by implementing efficient, scalable, and cost-effective processes.
  • Lead capacity planning initiatives to meet evolving market and customer demands.
  • Develop and manage KPIs to track daily performance; provide reports to leadership and drive accountability.
  • Champion Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase operational efficiency, including metrics such as Revenue per Square Foot and Revenue per Employee.
  • Implement and promote Lean Manufacturing principles throughout operations.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance design, production capacity, product quality, on-time delivery, and cost efficiency.
  • Lead high-impact projects and performance recovery efforts when targets are missed in safety, quality, schedule, or cost.
  • Drive process improvements across operations, focusing on cost control, quality enhancement, new product implementation, and service excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Direct and coordinate manufacturing activities in alignment with strategic goals and company objectives.
  • Serve as a key liaison with customers, suppliers, and corporate leadership, communicating with clarity, urgency, and professionalism
  • Maintain direct accountability for product quality, team performance, and operational excellence.


QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field
  • MBA or Master’s Degree preferred but not required
  • Lead operations by implementing efficient, profitable processes that enhance manufacturing workflow and output.
  • Drive daily performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost; lead recovery efforts when targets are missed.
  • Oversee people development, cost control, quality, continuous improvement, and customer service across operations.
  • Track and report on KPIs to ensure performance transparency and accountability.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement efforts to boost efficiency and revenue per employee/square foot.
