What are the responsibilities and job description for the Configuration Engineer position at Talusmfg?
Responsibilities :
Create and maintain the Order Bill of Materials (BOM) for customer-requested configuration, including :
Quotation in CRM that comes through CTLs (Change Tracking Logs).
Non-Standard Request (NSR) Implementation.
Change Order (CO) Implementation.
Field all configuration and BOM questions and tasks (POA firing question BOM exports, SAP dates questions).
Process all “Missing and Wrong” NCes, utilizing BOM expertise to determine root cause and triage for corrective action.
Participate in cross-functional teams to resolve issues on the production floor.
Review and analyze initial plans, templates, drawings, and / or software documents to ensure continuity of product design configuration.
Collaborate with other senior-level staff to prepare engineering modification proposals.
Implement approved modifications to engineering.
Ensure parts numbering and serialization are maintained, as noted in plans and specifications, by managing the product identification process.
Run change management for projects and programs and support proper project closure.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Education :
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Skills :
5 years of experience in configuration management or related engineering disciplines.
High level proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP.
Must be a self-starter and able to operate independently of day-to-day supervision.
Experience working with cross-functional teams in a complex, technical environment.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent English written and verbal communication skills, able to work with global stakeholders across the business to lead issues to completion.
Previous experience in planning, manufacturing, or engineering-related fields, and knowledge of Bill of Material structures and Engineering Change processes.
Experience with MRP system planning, ordering, and scheduling materials, preferably using SAP, is preferred.
