Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Agile IT Project Manager to lead and deliver complex software development projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, and have extensive experience utilizing Jira for project management and tracking. This role requires a proactive individual who can effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage stakeholders, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Execution:
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
- Lead project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure phases.
- Define project milestones, deliverables, and success criteria.
- Manage project risks and issues, developing mitigation and contingency plans.
Agile and Scrum Management:
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Ensure adherence to Agile principles and practices.
- Act as a Scrum Master, guiding and coaching the development team.
- Help the product owner to maintain the product backlog.
Jira Administration and Utilization:
- Utilize Jira for project tracking, issue management, and reporting.
- Configure and customize Jira workflows to meet project needs.
- Generate and analyze Jira reports to monitor project progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Train team members on effective Jira usage.
Stakeholder Management:
- Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders at all levels.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment on project goals.
Team Leadership and Collaboration:
- Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams.
- Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
- Resolve conflicts and remove roadblocks to ensure team efficiency.
- Facilitate effective communication within the team.
Budget and Resource Management:
- Develop and manage project budgets.
- Track project expenses and ensure adherence to budget constraints.
- Allocate and manage project resources effectively.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience as an IT Project Manager, preferably in software development.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum.
- Extensive experience using Jira for project management and tracking.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- PMP, CSM, SAFe or other relevant certifications are a plus
- Experience in software development life cycles.
- Hybrid work schedule required; 3 days on site, 2 days work from home
