This position is based in the Chicagoland area and requires in-office presence. Please note that we are not able to offer sponsorship for this role, and all applicants must be based in or willing to relocate to the Chicago area.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Vice President of People Operations to join our growing team of 55 employees. Reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer, this leadership role will play a key part in shaping the direction of our company culture, operations, and talent strategy. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in operations and HR leadership, with a passion for driving change and fostering an environment of innovation and excellence.

As Vice President of People Operations, you will lead and manage a team of specialists, ensuring the seamless day-to-day operations of our office and remote teams, while continuously improving organizational processes and systems to optimize performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • People Operations Leadership: Lead the team responsible for managing all office and people operations. This includes ensuring smooth, efficient operations across the organization with both strategic oversight and hands-on involvement in day-to-day activities.
  • Office & Culture Management: As an office-first company, you will be instrumental in cultivating and enhancing the physical office environment, ensuring it reflects our values of positivity, collaboration, and innovation. You will also ensure that the remote and hybrid experiences align with this culture.
  • Talent Strategy: Oversee all aspects of talent management, including recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes. Develop and implement strategies to attract top talent while fostering an inclusive and diverse workforce that aligns with our core values.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve internal processes to drive operational efficiency. Implement best practices to ensure the organization is agile and scalable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Oversee the company’s adherence to legal and regulatory requirements. Ensure all policies and practices comply with industry standards and regulations, and proactively address compliance issues as they arise.
  • Leadership Development: Spearhead programs aimed at developing leadership capabilities within the organization. Support the growth of current leaders and cultivate future leaders through training, mentorship, and development initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 10 years of progressively responsible operations or HR leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
  • Proven success in developing and implementing strategies that enhance people operations in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems, specifically Rippling, is a plus.
  • Experience in a startup or entrepreneurial environment is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on fostering a positive and inclusive company culture.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, adaptability, and self-direction in a dynamic work environment.
  • Tech-savvy with a passion for leveraging technology to improve people operations.
  • Positive, upbeat, and solution-oriented mindset.
