ABOUT THE ROLE
We seek a full-time entry-level AutoCAD Technician with a passion for the industry and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The position requires the application of project management techniques, procedures, and criteria while using personal judgment in making adaptations and modifications. We are looking for an innovative self-starter who can design and manage their own project workflows and support the organization while providing direct assistance to the PV Designer and Director of Operations to help projects run smoothly and efficiently from start to finish.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Assist with and manage commercial-scale renewable energy projects
- Work closely with manager and other team members to drive forward existing projects under development
- Communicate with customers to define the project scope, address deficiencies, negotiate pricing, and build relationships
- Perform energy auditing and review electric bills
- Write proposals, prepare documents, review contracts and scopes of work
- Organize and track project budgets, schedules, and proformas
- Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and inspections in your region
- Communicate with vendors and obtain subcontractor quotes
- Oversee project subcontractors
- Gather and manage information required for projects
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Experience in AutoCAD
- Experience in project management and leading projects to completion
- Strong organization skills and ability to multitask and handle frequently changing deadlines in a rapidly changing environment
- Enthusiasm for working with customers and across departments
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong computer and internet skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Willingness to go to job sites to analyze existing conditions when necessary
- A passion for renewable energy technology
- Resident of the Hudson Valley, NY, South Jersey, or the Philadelphia region
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Experience in Solar PV and storage systems technologies
- Understanding of the renewable energy project development process
- Familiarity with project finance and project financial models
- Experience creating preliminary renewable energy design work
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in energy management, engineering, business, or related field
- Master’s degree and advanced certifications a plus
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
- Driver's License (Required)
LOCATION
This position is approximately 50% remote from your home office and 50% travel to the company office in Warwick, NY and project sites in the northeast region. The company covers the cost of such travel.

AutoCAD Technician
Talva Energy seeks a full-time entry-level candidate with experience in AutoCAD and experience or a willingness to learn PV design. We seek someone passionate about the renewable energy industry and enthusiastic to work in a dynamic and rapidly growing renewable energy consulting & development firm based out of Warwick, NY.
Location: Hybrid - 50% home office 50% travel.
Office in Warwick, NY; required project travel mostly in your region but at times beyond. Candidate must be based in the Hudson Valley, NY, South Jersey, or the Philadelphia region.
Salary range: $60,000 - $75,000
Full-time
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9AM – 5PM EST
Salary is negotiable and based on job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
