AUDIT SENIOR JOB SUMMARY:
The Audit Senior’s primary goal will be to support the audit department to evaluate property operations and identify financial and compliance risks, as well as offering recommendations to reduce risk. The Audit Senior will work with operations partners to identify accounting and record-keeping processes that need improvement and update existing policies and processes accordingly.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Prepare and present reports that reflect audit results
- Act as an objective source of independent research and advice to ensure validity, legality, and goal achievement
- Review/audit policy and procedures for compliance/oversight – property and corporate level
- Internal review/audits of properties as needed – missing assets such as equipment, cash receipts, petty cash, etc.
- Review/audit of expense reports and cash advances
- Reviewing outstanding back reconciliation deposits, i.e., missing funds at property and corporate level
- Assisting with internal reconciliation projects
- Facilitate external client audits of property financial information
- Other duties as assigned
- Proven working experience in financial auditing, internal investigations, and/or financial reporting
- Strong understanding of financial reporting standards, fraud detection techniques, and internal control systems
- Advance computer skills on MS Office, accounting, and industry-specific software
- Highly organized, with the ability to maintain large amount of data and compile detailed reports
- Detail oriented, strong problem-solving and excellent analytical skills
- Sound independent judgement and confidentiality
- Must be able to focus with frequent interruptions and multiple deadlines
- An undergraduate degree with a major in a related field preferred
- Experience in auditing in multi-family property management
- Understanding of multi-family or real estate operations as it relates to management of assets, operations, budgeting, and planning
- Ability to operate in an open work area with moderate everyday noise
- Ability to work from multiple locations
- Ability to perform other duties as required
- Ability to frequently, and sometimes for long periods of time, sit, stand, climb and descend stairs, walk, extend arms and hands forward and overhead, using fingers to grasp, and carry.
- Must be able to bend, crouch, kneel, or stoop on occasion.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
- Must have up-close and distance vision.
- Associates who are regularly scheduled for and work 30 hours or more per week are eligible for company-sponsored benefits the 1st day of the month, following completion of 30 continuous days of employment. Benefits offered include medical, dental and vision coverage, as well as 401K and life insurance. Regular, full-time associates are eligible to accrue paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay.
