We are located in the beautiful Seirra Nevada Foothills above Yosemite National Park. We specialize in estate planning, probate, trust administration, and special needs and long-term care planning. We are a thriving small boutique firm with a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. We strive for serenity and want to present an atmosphere that is safe and supportive for our clients who are experiencing difficult life transitions. We are searching for an associate to add to our growing practice in Sonora, California.
We are offering a unique position to the right candidate. We offer a base salary of $100,000-$150,000/year dependent upon experience, with additional compensation incentives based upon performance. You will have the opportunity to be mentored by an experienced attorney as you grow your own practice. We believe in work/life balance and rarely work overtime.
The ideal candidate has 2 – 5 years estate planning experience as well as excellent communication skills, a strong desire to build his/her own practice, good computer skills, and familiarity with technology. You must be licensed by the State Bar of California.

Duties include but are not limited to:
- Meet with prospective clients, discuss estate planning process, review costs, obtain signed engagement agreement, draft recommended documents with assistance of staff (e.g., revocable living trusts, wills, powers of attorney, advance health care directives, general assignments of property, trust transfer deeds), meet with clients to review drafted documents;
- Advise and assist clients with Trust Administration upon death, prepare necessary documentation for administration (with support of a paralegal), including court petitions, notices, affidavits, reports/accounts of Trustee, and for transfer of assets to beneficiaries;
- Handle probate administrations with support of paralegal.
- Advise and assist clients seeking Medi-Cal benefits for long term skilled nursing care, including the preparation of legal documents necessary, and assistance with the transfer of assets if appropriate for Medi-Cal eligibility.
