About the Job:
The Shift Coordinator is a Staff Nurse II who oversees day-to-day operation of the Nursing Department and assists in other departments as necessary. The Shift Coordinator contributes to the achievement of the mission of MMC and the Department of Nursing by acting in these roles: Representative of the Nursing Profession; Custodian of the organization; and Coordinator of Resources. Is active in achieving True North through support of and involvement in Plan, People, Process.
Requirements:
- Meets requirements of Registered Nurse Staff Nurse II
- A bachelor's degree in Nursing and professional certification are preferred.
- Minimum of three years of experience as a registered nurse in a hospital setting; management/supervisory experience preferred.
- Must be able to read and comprehend written materials of a complex level such as contracts, government regulations and other agency requirements written in English.
- Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing including the ability to make effective group presentations in English.
- Must be able to comprehend and make mathematical computations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and statistical applications.
- Within six months of hire, understands and effectively uses Microsoft Office, Laborworkx, and clinical documentation systems Supports and implements Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action initiatives within area of responsibility.
Licensure or Certification
- Licensed as a registered nurse in the state of Wisconsin. Professional certification recommended.
- Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Within six months, must have successfully completed ACLS and TNCC. NRP, PALS or ENPC recommended
