Job Summary: The Director of Finance will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of Tamarack Resort, including strategic financial planning, budgeting, and accounting. This role involves close collaboration with the Chief Financial and Operating Officer to drive financial strategy and ensure the profitability and sound financial management of the resort.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and oversee the execution of financial strategies that align with Tamarack Resort's goals.
Lead the financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.
Manage accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements and reporting.
Collaborate with department heads to monitor financial performance and implement improvements.
Provide financial insights and strategic recommendations to optimize operations across vacation rentals, ski resort activities, food and beverage venues, golf, marina, and overall resort operations.
Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and industry standards.
Analyze market trends to identify financial opportunities and risks.
Develop robust financial models for current and future business needs.
Manage financial audits and liaise with external auditors as required.
Lead and develop the finance team, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
Proven experience as a Director of Finance or similar role, with a strong background in accounting and strategic financial management.
Specific experience in financial management within vacation rental properties, ski resorts, food and beverage operations, golf operations, marina operations, and resort management.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
Strong analytical skills with a strategic mindset.
Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance standards.
Proficient in financial management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
