SUMMARY
As a member of the maintenance team, the Building Maintenance Technician will serve as the first line of defense and past what the public sees when it comes to general maintenance and upkeep, light bulbs, mechanical issues, food service equipment, Furniture, Fixture, Equipment (FF&E). This position is responsible for creating an atmosphere that will inspire guests and associates to return. The above goals will be accomplished by the proper implementation, promotion and success of our operations through continual evaluation of the products/services/maintenance provided while insuring effective training of the service teams. The individual will instill a strong atmosphere of service excellence in order to promote self-motivation and will redirect performance as soon as discrepancies are observed/experienced. A key part of every employee’s job is to serve as a Snowbasin ambassador, engaging the guest at every opportunity. Safety of our guests and employees is paramount as well as integrity of our facilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintain a positive work environment by managing, leading, working and communicating in a courteous and professional manner with all guests, co-workers and vendors.
See past what the guest sees – daily building checks to make sure everything is in place and functioning.
Lead by example, fostering departmental teamwork and collaboration with other departments.
Maintain awareness of all safety, state & federal sanitation and security procedures relevant to the department and property. Ensure department members are familiar with and adhere to them as well.
Supports and promotes recycling program – trains employees and fosters recycling culture.
Supports revenue stream by making sure all equipment is in 100% working order.
Supports the customer service goals of the company and the department.
Perform any reasonable tasks as requested by management.
Works and performs all maintenance related issues.
Flexible work schedule including weekends/holidays.
Actively supervise the greetings of our guests.
Maintains superior cleanliness of facility and follows up on maintenance needs with all parties: F&B, housekeeping, and maintenance.
Attend and contribute to required meetings and training classes.
Follow up on all internal service requests.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

EDUCATION
Must possess a minimum of 2 years in a similar role as a building maintenance technician
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Requires possession of valid Class C driver license with a driving record meeting the minimum standards required by the resort’s insurance carrier. Apprentice Level in any one trade would be preferred. Understanding of lock-out/tag-out procedures
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Please be advised that the location of this position is in the mountains. Inclement weather can and will be encountered on a regular basis, especially throughout the winter. Reliable transportation to and from work is a necessity. Access to a 4WD or AWD vehicle is highly recommended.
