What are the responsibilities and job description for the Corporate Maintenance Technician position at TAMKO?
TAMKO is seeking a Corporate Maintenance Tech at our corporate office in Joplin, Missouri. This position will provide support for the Facility Maintenance Manager and must have general mechanical, plumbing, painting and HVAC knowledge.

- Promotes a safe work environment and safe work practices.
- Performs minor electrical maintenance to including, but not limited to, replacement and repair of fixtures (e.g. wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools.
- Performs minor plumbing maintenance (e.g. replacement and repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, trenching and laying new lines, replacing drain hoses on washers and similar devices, etc.).
- Performs minor painting, carpentry and masonry work (e.g. preparing surfaces and using brush, sprayer and roller to apply paints, stains and varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks and handles, etc.).
- Re-configures, installs, positions and remounts modular offices and space (e.g. furniture, wall panels, work surfaces, storage bins, lighting, file cabinets, etc.)
- Prepares the surfaces and paints various structures and equipment (e.g. walls, floors, roofs, doors, restroom facilities, etc.)
- Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, or at least one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Valid driver's license.
- HVAC Aptitudes – Should possess a sound technical knowledge of all HVAC equipment used in facilities in order to identify issues.
- Mechanical Aptitudes - Should possess a sound technical knowledge of all equipment used in facilities in order to identify issues.
- Electrical Aptitudes - Should be knowledgeable in the understanding of NEC electrical codes in order to identify issues.
- Safety - Compliance with all TAMKO and departmental safety rules and regulations along with a proficient understanding of OSHA standards.
