TAMKO is seeking a Maintenance Manager. This position is responsible for the maintenance of the Columbus manufacturing facility, including all process equipment, rolling stock, buildings, and the plant property. The Maintenance Manager leads all maintenance personnel, schedules and oversees all repair work (major and minor), ensures reliability and continuous improvement of plant equipment and processes, and champions the implementation of TAMKO’s Core Values, Plays, and Culture.
The maintenance department supports a 24/7 manufacturing operation and currently consists of five maintenance personnel.

- Provide leadership and clear direction to maintenance personnel, including expectations based on TAMKO’s Core Values, Plays, and Culture. Regularly provide performance feedback and corrective discipline when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards, conducting regular safety talks, inspections, and lockout/tag-out procedure audits.
- Ensure reliability and continuous improvement of plant equipment and structures, maintaining a data-driven approach to maintenance management.
- Coordinate the accurate input of equipment and inspection data into SAP, including the condition monitoring and preventive maintenance systems.
- Implement and improve Autopilot and automated condition monitoring practices to enhance departmental efficiency.
- Engage in proactive communication with operations and production personnel regarding equipment status, maintenance schedules, and repair requirements.
- Manage maintenance storeroom to ensure spare parts availability and accurate requisition statuses.
- Oversee and enhance the maintenance work order system and Mobile Asset Manager software, ensuring data accuracy, planning effectiveness and completeness.
- Prepare and present monthly maintenance performance reports to the General Manager.
- Facilitate daily review and weekly maintenance and production coordination meetings.
- Lead project planning, capital budgeting, and expenditure monitoring. Assist the General Manager with annual capital budgeting and project planning.
- Plan and execute shutdowns following TAMKO’s extended downtime planning protocols.
- Continuously seek and implement improvements for higher productivity, reduced maintenance costs, improved quality, and reduced energy consumption.
- Regularly evaluate maintenance workmanship quality to support operational excellence based on key performance metrics.
Leadership and Skill Requirements
- Exceptional leadership with strong motivational skills; actively engage with personnel on the plant floor.
- Project management expertise, capable of handling multiple concurrent projects.
- Strong safety focus.
- Proficiency or certification in Six Sigma, PLC programming, or Autopilot preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) with at least 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. STEM-related education a plus.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and technical instructions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of effectively presenting information to various stakeholders.
- Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office, Excel, and Engineering Software.
- Technical aptitude, including mechanical knowledge of plant equipment and familiarity with NEC electrical codes and OSHA regulations.
- Prior experience in web-based or textile industries beneficial.
