TAMKO Building Products, LLC is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for the manufacturing facility in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The Maintenance Supervisor directs, and coordinates activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment, and in maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems of manufacturing facility.

- Reviews job orders to determine work priorities.
- Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
- Coordinates activities of workers fabricating or modifying machines, tools, or equipment to manufacture new products or improve existing products.
- Directs maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, or air required for operations.
- Develops preventive maintenance program in conjunction with engineering and maintenance staff.
- Reviews production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities.
- Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
- Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.
- Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations.
- Directs training and supervises workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies and procedures.
- Confers with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.
- Prepares department budget and monitors expenditure of funds in budget.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Ten years of manufacturing experience, preferably working in maintenance, engineering or operations.
- Occasional travel for technical skills training and other professional development opportunities.

- The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with the assistance of another person.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions for short periods. The employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and extreme heat or cold.
- The employee must be able to operate a computer and other office equipment; must be able to traverse the office and production floors.
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee may work around moving mechanical parts, at elevated heights, where dusts and fumes could be present in the air, with or in proximity to chemicals, in hot environments, around electrical equipment, and in a loud environment. The employee must have the ability to understand and mitigate these and other risks, including by following all prescribed safety rules, and must have the ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, if necessary.
