The Raw Materials Line Manager oversees the Support Supervisor and Shipping Supervisor, assists in managing the planning of material shipments into the plant, the processing, storage and transfer of raw materials within the plant, and the shipment of finished product from the plant.

  • Establishes and leads process improvement projects.
  • Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Represents Support and Shipping at meetings and team functions.
  • Determines responsibilities of assigned organization and staff positions to accomplish business objectives.
  • Trains and ensures all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government and customer policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Provides technical knowledge and assistance for common problems within the Support, Raw Materials, and Shipping areas.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Oversees the Support Supervisor and Shipping Supervisor who in turn lead employees in support and shipping.
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study.
  • Five years manufacturing experience and/or training preferred.
  • Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) preferred.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office suite

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee may work around moving mechanical parts, at elevated heights, where dusts and fumes could be present in the air, with or in proximity to chemicals, in hot environments, around electrical equipment, and in a loud environment.  The employee must have the ability to understand and mitigate these and other risks, including by following all prescribed safety rules, and must have the ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, if necessary.
