What are the responsibilities and job description for the Groundskeeper position at Tampa Bay Rowdies?
The Tampa Bay Rowdies are looking for a Groundskeeper performing the day-to-day maintenance of the fields.
Responsibilities
- The position will perform skilled landscape construction duties including the repair and construction of athletic fields, irrigation systems, drainage systems, walkways, etc.
- Executes the playing field maintenance program including fertilization, cultural practices and irrigation and all other related functions.
- Experience handling and applying pesticides and fungicides.
- Ability to work for extended periods of time in high heat and humidity
- Ability to work with any plant materials, soils, pesticides, and chemicals commonly used in landscaping operations.
- Obtain instructions and carry out assignments as given by the Director of Stadium and Grounds.
- Help supervise crew putting out field tarps and putting them away.
- Experience painting sports field lines.
- Operating all small to medium sized grounds equipment. (weed eaters, blowers, paint machine)
- Experience cutting turf with a reel mower.
- Experience with fertilizing.
- Experience with repair of irrigation.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous experience with sports turf maintenance, preferred.
- Willingness to work a variable schedule including some weekends and holidays, especially during the soccer season.
