Position Summary:
Tampa Bay Sun FC seeks a passionate and results-driven Director of Marketing, Communications, and Fan Experience to lead the strategic development and execution of all marketing, branding, game-day, and communications initiatives. This role is central to creating a dynamic, inclusive, and unforgettable fan experience—while ensuring measurable success for our corporate partners, ticketing campaigns, and community presence. The Director will manage a team of manager leads and is responsible for aligning marketing efforts across ticketing, partnerships, operations, and the sporting side of the organization. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the voice, vibe, and legacy of a professional women’s soccer club.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Marketing & Brand Leadership
• Develop and implement integrated marketing strategies and grassroots marketing initiatives that build awareness, drive revenue, and grow Tampa Bay Sun FC’s presence locally, nationally, and globally.
• Oversee brand consistency and creative execution across all channels: digital, broadcast, in-venue, merchandise, print, and paid media.
• Establish KPIs and oversee regular marketing performance reporting, including impressions, campaign engagement, and return on spend.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive, season-long marketing plan to drive brand awareness, fan engagement, and revenue.
Game Day Production & Fan Experience
• Direct all elements of matchday presentation, including run of show, in-stadium activations, music, video board content, PA scripts, promotions, and halftime programming.
• Innovate engaging and memorable pre-match and in-match experiences that foster loyalty, community, and family-friendly energy.
• Collaborate closely with stadium operation staff to ensure seamless execution on matchday to deliver a seamless, high-quality matchday environment aligned with the club’s brand and mission.
Communications, PR & Storytelling
• Serve as the lead for all internal and external communications, including press releases, announcements, interviews, and media coordination and media training.
• Build and manage media relationships, representing the club and supporting players and staff as spokespeople.
• Oversee content and storytelling that enhances the club’s visibility, mission, and competitive narrative.
Sole Mascot & Kids Club Programming
• Manage the Tampa Bay Sun FC mascot program from personality development to brand integration, ensuring regular appearances, community outreach, and matchday activations.
• Lead the development and growth of a robust official Kids Club, including content, membership benefits, and youth-oriented marketing that engages youth and families through exclusive content, experiences, and matchday programming.
Leadership & Cross-Department Collaboration
• Manage a growing team of managers across marketing, creative, fan engagement, and communications functions.
• Set clear goals and KPIs for staff and facilitate professional development and performance tracking.
• Ensure the marketing department effectively supports and collaborates with ticketing, corporate partnerships, operations, and the sporting department—delivering marketing tools, creative assets, and strategic insight while acting as a key connector between departments to ensure consistent messaging and unified brand execution across all touchpoints.
• Oversee agency and vendor relationships and manage marketing budget.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Sports Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 5 years of progressive leadership experience in sports, entertainment, or live event marketing.
• Experience managing a multi-disciplinary team and overseeing department performance.
• Strong track record of designing fan engagement strategies and measurable marketing campaigns.
• Knowledge of PR, media relations, and brand development.
• Excellent interpersonal, project management, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
• Familiarity with the Tampa Bay market and local media/advertising landscape.
• Proficiency with creative tools (Adobe Suite), marketing platforms, and CRM systems.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
• Passion for women’s sports, storytelling, and fan culture.
