This Position Can Be Hired At Four Different Levels:
The Engineer - ADMS-ADI will drive the enhancement of our Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) by planning and implementing upgrades that align with our future organizational goals. Collaborate closely with technical teams, business stakeholders, and leadership to evolve the ADMS to meet emerging needs and technologies, ensuring seamless integration and optimal utilization of the system.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct: May have direct responsibility for one or more internal or external professional team members.
RELATIONSHIPS
Internal: Regular collaboration with other teams involved in the ADI program, such as the Distribution Control Center, IT departments, and the teams responsible for Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
External: Interacts with external vendors and the system integrator for ADMS
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Required: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Electrical, Civil, Industrial, Mechanical, or Chemical) from an ABET accredited program
Preferred: Advanced Degree in Engineering or a related field; An Electrical Engineering degree; Florida Professional Engineer License (PE)
Experience
Required: 4 years of experience in engineering, utility operations, IT systems implementation, or related field.
Combined maximum of one year of work experience credit may be granted for co-op work experience, an advanced degree, and/or a PE license.
Experience with strategic planning and the implementation of large-scale technology projects, and knowledge of trends in utility operations including smart grids and renewable integration.
Preferred: Experience working with ADMS or EMS advanced applications; Experience with software implementation or upgrade. Experience in leading ADMS platforms such as GE Grid Solutions, Schneider Electric, or Siemens
The Engineer II – ADMS-ADI qualifications for this level shall include sustained demonstrated sound knowledge in a functional work area with an expected or higher degree of performance. Demonstrated knowledge of policies and work procedures within the Company. Independently evaluates, selects and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications; may have significant role in training, orientation, assigning work or supervising other team members. May receive assistance and/or guidance on unusual problems; may have limited authority for performing work on an individual basis with quasi-supervisory responsibility over other team members as may be assigned; may prepare engineering analyses, specifications and reports on an independent basis.
EXPERIENCE
Required: 4 years of experience as an Engineer performing work related to the Duties & Responsibilities of this position.
The Sr Engineer – ADMS-ADI must have demonstrated above expected performance in the Engineer II classification, sound knowledge of functional area of work and advanced engineering concepts and interactions and relationships to total Company operation, and eligibility to become a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Florida.
EXPERIENCE
Required: 8 years of experience as an Engineer performing work related to the Duties & Responsibilities of this position and eligibility to become a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Florida.
The Principal Engineer will be expected to continue technical development and growth and may supervise a staff of engineers or technicians. Supervision received is essentially administrative, with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits. Recognized as a company-wide expert in the respective field of study.
Licenses/Certifications
Required: Professional Engineer license in the State of Florida
Experience
Required: 12 years of experience as an Engineer performing work related to the Duties & Responsibilities of this position.
Preferred: 8 years of project engineering experience
The Engineering Fellow will be an expert in all technical aspects of the software and will be able to train others. Supervise a staff of engineers or technician and will provide feedback and guidance with accountability. Recognized as a company-wide expert in the respective field of study.
Licenses/Certifications
Required: Professional Engineer license in the State of Florida
Experience
Required: 16 years of experience as an Engineer performing work related to the Duties & Responsibilities of this position.
Preferred: Ten years of transmission/Distribution related experience.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for leading the planning and execution of ADMS upgrades. This involves ensuring that upgrades align with organizational goals and future needs while coordinating with internal and external engineering and operational teams to gather and define system requirements. (30%)
- Provide ADMS insight as part of the ADI Program Team’s integrated project plan, ensuring that timelines, resources, and deliverables are coordinated with other engineering initiatives, and that the ADMS integrates seamlessly with other systems within Electric Delivery. (20%)
- Work closely with IT teams to ensure that the ADMS is aligned with the organization’s existing and future IT architecture, collaborating to ensure scalability, integration, and interoperability with other systems. (20%)
- Own the ADMS vendor relationship by providing technical and strategic input to ensure deliverables meet the organization’s requirements. Facilitate communication between vendors, internal teams, and external partners to ensure smooth project execution. (20%)
- Develop and implement training efforts to ensure staff are equipped to use the upgraded ADMS and will lead change management strategies to support the adoption of new functionalities. (10%)
