What are the responsibilities and job description for the Developmental Swim Team of Y Swim League- Bob Sierra Family YMCA position at TAMPA METROPOLITAN AREA YMCA INC?
Under the direction of the Association Director of Competitive Swimming, the Aquatics Experience Director, and/or the Head Swim Coach, the Swim Coach will assist with all aspects of planning and preparation for the Tampa YMCA Swim Team program. The Swim Coach will assist in the development and recruitment of swimmers participating with the Tampa YMCA Swim Team programs and YMCA Swim Lesson program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Head Swim Coach with the development and implementation of workouts, trainings and season plans.
- Lead supervised structured practices and/or dry land trainings, ensure attendance is documented.
- Evaluate swimmer ability/performance and plan strategies for their improvement.
- Assist in coordinating and executing swim team competitions and meet registrations.
- Attend specified competitions, training and/or special events as directed by the Head Swim Coach or Association Director of Competitive Swimming.
- Develop and implement recruitment and retention strategies for athletes in the program.
- Assist in training and preparing Assistant Coaches to conduct effective and safe workouts.
- Follow all safety recommendations and guidelines per Tampa YMCA policies and United States Swimming (USS).
- Communicate program information effectively and in a timely manner to supervisors, participants and their families.
- Establishes and maintains a team attitude, and encourages good sportsmanship for athletes and parents.
- Attend all required staff meetings.
Must be willing to work the following hours Monday, Wednesday, Friday 5pm-7:30pm
