We're seeking passionate Personal Trainers to work with diverse clients, from beginners to fitness fanatics, helping them reach their goals. Make a meaningful impact on your community at the Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA.
Essential functions and responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Evaluates the participant’s fitness level through a fitness evaluation or assessment.
- Assists the participant in creating goals that are achievable.
- Creates a program and makes recommendations that are within the personal trainer’s expertise.
- Monitors the progress of the members throughout the training program continuously modifying the programs to achieve the stated goals.
- Provides continuous education regarding “risk factor” modification and pre-established goal accomplishments to participants.
- Demonstrates confidentiality between the personal trainer and member.
- Adheres to the Association operating policies and procedures by operating the programs within the guidelines set forth.
- Ensures that the highest quality of service is provided.
- Continuously monitors the member's progress and makes changes as needed to achieve goals.
- Continuous personal education to maintain industry standards and current certification(s).
- Completes all job-related and other trainings as required.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Level of Personal Trainer level is based on the following criteria:
- Personal Trainer I with less than 600 hours of previous training experience.
- Personal Trainer II requires more than 600 hours of previous training experience, or a bachelors/master’s degree in Exercise Science or a health-related field.
This pay scale is based on job title and number of hours trained per pay period.
