What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Martial Arts Instructor- Spurlino Family YMCA position at TAMPA METROPOLITAN AREA YMCA INC?
Under the Program Director, the Martial Arts Instructor will assist and lead introduction to Martial Arts classes. The Martial Arts Instructor will build positive relationships with program participants and insure the safety, well-being, and involvement of participants. Help to nurture the self-esteem, confidence, and core values of each and every participant.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teaches martial arts to adults 18 years of age and over.
- Demonstrates techniques and procedures for martial arts curriculum.
- Observes students’ skills to define students’ progress or to make suggestions.
- Maintains a clean and safe workspace.
- Represents the YMCA and interacts with members in a friendly, engaging and professional manner.
- Communicates in a professional and positive manner to parents, guests, and other associates.
- Provides a safe and enjoyable environment for members.
- Follows standards and policies as explained in the Tampa YMCA Employee Handbook.
- Enforces all rules and makes effective decision making to assure the safety and security of program participants.
- Attends staff meetings and training programs, as required.
- Exhibits behaviors and attitudes that are consistent with the YMCA Mission and policies of the Association.
Applies YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergency procedures
