POSITION SUMMARY:

The Business Analyst is responsible for paying all Tampico bills for the manufacturing plant. One of the responsibilities is to investigate and resolve all matters related to the payment of invoices, working with internal department leads and external vendors to ensure compliance with payments. The Business Analyst ensures an adequate control environment is in place to safeguard company records. Additionally, this role reviews applicable accounting reports and accounts payable registers, evaluating those records for potential future disputes or auditing. The position is also responsible for processing and recording all Tampico sales and customer payments for the site and to communicate with Tampico corporate sales team and customers on status of AR balances. This role also escalates issues to the accountant when terms and payment plans for overdue accounts needs to be evaluated and negotiated. The position reports to the Plant Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversees AP record keeping, maintains all accounts payable reports, spreadsheets and accounts payable files.
• Oversees AR collections by examining customer payment plans, payment history, and credit line.
• Assists and produces various reports for management including accounts receivable aging and hold reports and additionally provides assistance in monthly closings.
• Evaluates unit pricing on manufacturing invoices and compares to historical trends to adjust appropriate receipt value of raw materials.
• Verifies validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from plant manager, customer service departments, and from customers.
• Prepares and processes check runs, wire transfers, and ACH payments.
• Audits and processes all expense reports, checking the veracity of the T&E support and interpreting approvals against official company policy.
• Monitors all cash deposit activity for Tampico.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2 years of experience of combination in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable or cost accounting
• Associates degree in relevant field required
• Self- motivated, results oriented with good planning, organizational and time-management skills.
• Handles multiple tasks in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.
• Intermediate experience with Microsoft office suite; experience in Quickbooks and MS Dynamics a plus
• Strong mathematical and reading skills
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills supporting logical decision-making processes
• Position required to work varying shifts and weekend at time to support project execution requirements
• Must reside in Palestine, Texas area
