Job Details
The Summer CDF Freedom Schools® program is a direct service initiative coordinated nationally by the Children’s Defense Fund in partnership with Tanager. The program serves students at Roosevelt Creative Corridor Business Academy (formerly Roosevelt Middle School)/ The activity based Integrated Reading Curriculum, which is aligned to the Common Core State Standards, integrates reading, conflict resolution and social action, and is designed to promote social, cultural and historical awareness. This position will also offer the opportunity to express your creative side through leading an enrichment program to include art, music and nature, and other personal interests and participating in field trips and other off-site learning opportunities. Each CDF Freedom Schools Servant Leader Intern (SLI) serves as the teacher for a maximum of ten students. The dates for this seasonal role are from the end of May through July.
Qualifications
Qualified Candidates
- Must be 18 years of age.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
Required Special Qualifications
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License and meet the driving requirements of the Agency.
