A DAY IN THE LIFE:

This position will be a trusted advisor and the primary IT point of contact to business line executives and managers. Working alongside Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, and Supply Chain teams, the role has the overall responsibility to serve as the strategic interface for business technology strategy development, solution discovery, service management, risk management, and relationship management.

The Sr. Dir, IT Business Partner will:

  • Establish the business relationship link between the Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, and Supply Chain and IT at the executive level.
  • Partner with Senior Leadership to identify areas of greatest impact and determine technology solution(s) to execute.
  • Development and execution of an IT roadmap aligned with clientele's priorities and long- term strategic imperatives.
  • Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing solutions and develop strategies and/or new proposed tools/applications for improvement.
  • Work collaboratively across and within the IT Enterprise in planning, designing, developing, and deploying new applications and enhancements to existing ones.
  • Lead a team of IT professionals, driving a high performing team culture aligned to business outcomes.
  • Ensure technology remains in compliance with security and data privacy policies, standards, including accessibility, vulnerability, and website inventory management.
  • Provide leadership with high value strategic consulting and guidance through key IT initiatives
  • Lead development and upkeep of the Operations organization's technology roadmaps in support of their strategic ambitions.
  • Continuously share knowledge of new technology opportunities and risks that can help drive competitive advantage, improved efficiencies, and effectiveness for Operations teams.
  • Partner with Operations leadership and other key stakeholders to continuously review and prioritize their project portfolios.
  • Work with peers in Global IT to define and address business limitations and establish best practices for the implementation and adoption of new systems, including relevant training standards.
  • Educate Operations business partners on IT project intake and governance processes and standards.
  • Communicate decisions, priorities, and relevant project information back to appropriate teams within IT, regarding business unit requests for projects and initiatives.
  • Maintain the total cost of ownership of enterprise applications and cost and scalability with the growth of the company.
  • Budget for planned needs and present justification for all unplanned expenses by assessing the business need and the Return on Investment
  • Ensure department understands and complies with quality standards and requirements as documented.
  • Continue to innovate by assessing new technology and reviewing the performance of existing systems so that the organization remains on the leading edge of innovation and continues to benefit from the technology investments.
  • Supports the short-term planning for the department including headcount, budgeting, training, and systems requirements.
  • Participates in the selection, development, performance appraisal, merit recommendation, and promotion of staff.
  • Ensures department staff is properly trained, per designated training plan, before assuming job responsibilities.
  • Develops and manages schedules and performance requirements of staff.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies, including Privacy/HIPAA, and other legal and regulatory requirements.

EXTRA AWESOME:

  • BS in computer science, information systems, or equivalent combination of education and job experience.
  • 15 years relevant experience to include:
    • Successful leadership experience in Information technology.
    • Experience in working with technologies for large manufacturing organizations.
  • 10 years of managing information technology professionals.
  • Experience working in in Life Sciences, FDA regulated industries preferred.
  • Ability to work with globally distributed, matrixed teams
  • Working with a broad array of technologies - ERP, PLM, Complaint Handling, Cloud operations, SaaS and integration suites.
  • Implementation experience to enable digital journey through the full cycle of planning, sourcing, manufacturing and global distribution of products, including quality management and regulatory compliance.
  • Skilled at effectively communicating department or area issues and results within and across functional areas and conducting presentations of technical information concerning specific projects or timelines. Able to gain cooperation of others.
  • Skilled at effectively leading a cooperative team effort and organizing resources to achieve team goals. Able to make and prioritize process and resource decisions based on overall team needs.
  • Some travel may be required.

WHEN & WHERE YOU’LL WORK:

This position will require you to come into the San Diego office as needed based on business demands. Tandem will provide equipment for you to work remotely when not in office. We are open to considering candidates within the United States and some travel may be required based on location.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

The starting base pay range for this position is $197,000 - $256,100 annually. Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may also fluctuate depending on candidate’s location and the overall job market. In addition to base pay, Tandem offers a competitive compensation package that includes bonus, equity, and a robust benefits package.

YOU SHOULD KNOW:
