POSITION SUMMARY
In this position reporting to the Production Lead, the Machine Operator will be responsible for all aspects of Rhino Hyde production to include but not limited to verifying documentation and tooling, verifying material accuracy, ensuring accuracy of set-ups and conducting any inspections or quality checks as required in meeting all aspects of the Rhino Hyde quality program. In this position you may be required to support other areas of the facility as needed.
AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
- Responsible for machine set up and basic machine maintenance
- Knowledge of material types, material locations and material acceptance criteria
- Ability to trouble shoot all routine issues and most non routine issues that may arise
- Support Tandem’s ISO policy and objectives
- Accurately complete all required paperwork
- Responsible for inspecting molds prior to pouring for accuracy
- Responsible for maintaining quality standards
- Responsible for maintaining productivity standards
- Maintain housekeeping in area
- Knowledge of proper disposal of empty drums for re-use or recycling
- Responsible for maintaining solid communication with helpers to understand constraints and opportunities for improvement
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities
- Accepts other duties and assumes other responsibilities as assigned or as need becomes apparent
SPECIAL SKILLS/TRAINING/EXPERIENCES REQUIRED
- HS Diploma or GED and 1-3 yrs of mfg process knowledge a plus
- Able to demonstrate and keep high quality standards and serve as a leader in the role of machine operation
- Familiar with performing and adjusting machine ratio
- Able to read tape measure, prints, and process sheets
- Able to multi-task, with strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize
- Able to work independently or with other to get results
- Able to handle multiple priorities
- Able to trouble shoot material issues such as poor mix and soft pours
- Basic mechanical ability to operate and maintain pouring machines and trouble shoot mechanical issues
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Reasonable vision or corrected vision
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Able to work in an environment with frequent exposure to fumes, chemicals and dust
- Able to work in heat
- Able to lift and reach above your head.
- Able to twist and bend
- Able to demonstrate reasonable dexterity
