Public Relations Intern

Position summary: 

Tandem Public Relations is a boutique public relations firm located in Louisville’s central downtown district. Founded in 2005, our business thrives on providing outstanding results and client service. Our clients include Fortune 500 companies, universities and academic institutions, nonprofits, consumer brands, government agencies, awareness campaigns, foundations, and other business sectors. 

The Public Relations Intern role is vital to the success of our business and provides a springboard to a further career in the field of public relations, branding and communications.

When we welcome on an intern, we welcome them into the Tandem family. Here, you won’t be fetching coffee and making copies. We give you real work, challenging your skills and helping you grow new ones while in your position. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·        Writing press releases, media advisories, brochures and other communication materials

·        Attending client meetings

·        Developing strategies

·        Monitoring news coverage and social media

·        Pitching media

·        Event planning

·        Agency administration

Since all employees are hired for an unspecified duration, this internship offer does not guarantee employment for any specific length of time. Employment is at the mutual consent of the employee and Tandem. Accordingly, either the employee or the company can terminate the employment relationship at will.

Applicant Requirements:

·        College student or recent graduate with primary focus in public relations, marketing, advertising, communications or related field

·        Strong writer, creative thinker and hard worker

·        Familiarity with AP Style

·        Ability to work in-person at our office in Louisville’s central downtown district

·        Available for approximately 30-35 hours per week between May 13, 2025 and August 9, 2025.

The Public Relations Intern is a paid opportunity and will be compensated at a rate of $10.00 per hour. Tandem will ensure our intern has everything needed to excel in this role including:
