What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cardiothoracic Operating Room NP/PA position at Tandym Group?
A health services organization in New Jersey is currently seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) and/or Physician Assistant (PA) to join their Cardiothoracic Operating Room team at one of their community-based hospital in Northern NJ.
About the Opportunity:
- Assignment Length: 3 months (1-week per month)
- Schedule: Tuesday to Friday (occasional on-call coverage for Evenings & Weekends)
- EMR: Epic
Responsibilities:
- Provide OR coverage in cardiothoracic surgery, including first assist
- Work and collaborate across the Cardiothoracic Operating Room, Cardiac Surgical ICU, Step-Down Unit, and Floor
- Perform endoscopic vein harvesting (Terumo & HemaPro), CABG, valve procedures, thoracotomies, and aortic surgeries
- Support post-operative care in a clinical setting
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree
- NJS Nurse Practitioner (NP) and/or Physician Assistant (PA) license
- ACLS and BLS certifications
- CDS/DEA registration
- Experience in an Operating Room, First Assist, and/or Cardiac Surgery role / setting
- Skilled in Surgical procedures, Anatomy, EKG interpretation, and Emergency Response
