A community medical center in Ocean County, NJ is seeking Board Certified/Board Eligible Gastroenterologists to provide inpatient locum coverage.
About the opportunity:
- Schedule: 7-day block - Monday - Friday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (in-house)
- On-Call: Every night during the 7-day coverage block
- Weekend Call: 24-hour call on Saturdays & Sundays, ending Monday at 7:00 AM
- Patient Load: Approximately 15 patients per day
- Start Date: June 30, 2025
Responsibilities:
- Provide inpatient gastroenterology consults and follow-ups for a 7-day block.
- Perform investigative endoscopic procedures, including:
- Colonoscopies, sigmoidoscopies, upper endoscopies, gastroscopies
- Duodenoscopes, barium swallows
- ERCP procedures
- Collaborate with private GI providers and support staff to ensure quality patient care.
- Provide on-call gastroenterology coverage for the Emergency Department, following hospital policies.
- Participate in 24-hour call shifts (including approx. 2 hours of rounding with the remainder unrestricted).
- Effectively communicate with patients, families, and medical teams to deliver high-quality care.
Qualifications:
- Board Certified / Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
- Active NJ Medical License (or ability to obtain)
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Salary : $375 - $425
