A pharmaceutical company in New Jersey is currently seeking a new Controller for an Interim position with their growing team. Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
About the Opportunity:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Assignment Length: Ongoing
- Schedule: Monday to Friday (3 days onsite; 2 days WFH)
- Hours: 9am to 5pm
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP and company policies, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and cost accounting functions
- Implement and maintain an effective financial reporting system, including timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts
- Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and external stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators and financial trends
- Contribute to the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes, providing financial analysis and insights to support decision-making
- Conduct financial analysis, including variance analysis and trend analysis, to identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement
- Manage cash flow and liquidity to meet the company's financial obligations and optimize returns on investments
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in accounting and finance operations, implementing best practices to increase efficiency and effectiveness
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 7 years of Accounting / Finance experience
- Bachelor's Degree
- Gross-to-Net experience
- Experience in the Life Sciences and/or Pharmaceutical industry
- Previous experience in a Management and/or Supervisory role
- Proficiency with an ERP system
- Microsoft Office proficient
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Desired Skills:
- MBA degree and/or CPA license
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
- Experience with ERP implementation / ERP upgrades
