A healthcare organization in Orlando is currently seeking a Network Engineer. This role will involve travel throughout the Central Florida area.
About the Opportunity
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 8am to 5pm
- Setting: Onsite (with occasional travel)
Responsibilities:
- Configure Cisco 9300 & 9500 switches for L3 and L2 using CLI/Tera Term or Putty
- Manage network components from DMARC to MDF/IDF, including fiber distribution and network topology, ensuring high Quality of Service (QoS)
- Plan, implement, and forecast moderate-complexity copper and fiber network systems, including wireless
- Perform facility surveys for network communications and make recommendations for the layout and location of network components, equipment, cabling, and wiring
- Actively participate in team projects, meetings, and assignments
- Configure and manage network switch equipment for protocol compatibility and system tuning
- Strategize the replacement of infrastructure equipment, maintaining adherence to security standards and ensuring system updates
- Collaborate with the Information Security Team on firewall rules and HIPPA compliance standards
- Follow departmental procedures and policies, including on-site travel for resolving issues and deploying resources
- Accurately track IT equipment transfers/relocation through the service desk ticketing system.
- Mentor junior team members in cross-connect & patch management, fault identification, and data/telecom access
- Document technology solutions for resolving issues and streamlining processes.
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- General understanding of basic computer terminology and a strong passion to learn
- Basic knowledge and proficiency of Windows OS and Microsoft Office Suite
- Intermediate knowledge of VLANS & Port-trucking/Group channeling & Wan Uplinks to Metro ASEoD
- Strong knowledge of the OSI model and data flow throughout the network environment
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
