A healthcare facility in Low Moor, Virginia, is currently seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to provide night shift hospitalist coverage on a locum tenens basis. This role requires experience in acute inpatient care, code response, and vent management.
- Schedule: 14 night shifts per month (7 on / 7 off preferred, minimum 7 shifts per month)
- Shift: Night shift coverage
- Setting: Inpatient hospital
- On-Call: No
- EMR: Meditech
- Credentialing: Process takes approximately 60 days (temps available upon completion of CVO process)
- Providing inpatient hospitalist coverage during night shifts
- Responding to codes and rapid responses (Emergency Medicine team assists with emergent procedures)
- Performing vent management (intubation skills preferred but not required; EM team available for support)
- Admitting and managing 3-4 patients per night
- Collaborating with the Emergency Medicine team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Active Virginia (VA) License and DEA (Required)
- Clean file No malpractice history or disciplinary actions
- Experience in hospital medicine, with strong skills in acute inpatient care
- Ability to perform procedures preferred
