A financial services firm in New York City is currently seeking an experienced Accountant for a promising Senior-level position with their growing Financial Reporting team.
Responsibilities :
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for :
Maintaining the U.S. firm's books and records
Reviewing the monthly and annual financial statements, with a focus on the regulated broker dealers
Reviewing various accounting reconciliations and financial schedules that support the financial statements
Collaborating with Outside Auditors and Advisors on accounting policy decisions, U.S. GAAP interpretations, and internal control documentation and decisions
Working closely with other team members, including our accounting-specific technology team, to improve processes and ensure the group's goals are met
Performing other duties, as needed Qualifications :
9 years of relevant Accounting experience in the Broker Dealer industry
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
In-depth knowledge of broker-dealer regulatory filings, required
In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP
Comprehensive understanding of Financial Statements and Legal Entity Reporting
Able to research and interpret relevant / complex accounting literature
Experience in the preparation of Technical Accounting papers
Microsoft Excel proficient
Solid analytical, mathematical, and research skills
Great interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong attention to detail
Highly organized
