A distinguished nonprofit mental health organization in New York City is in search Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) for its team situated in Manhattan.
About the Opportunity :
Start Date : ASAP
Schedule : Up to 14 hours Monday to Friday
Hours : 9am to 5pm (with a 1 hour unpaid lunch)
Setting : Support Center
Patient Population : Adults (Ages 18 year) with mental health issues
The nurse will be provided with an unlimited MetroCard Responsibilities :
The Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) will :
Conduct groups and individual sessions in the clinic setting and in the community
Provide ongoing clinical services to assigned caseload and provide consultation for clients who may need services or are in need of short term clinical interventions
Provide services in an evidence based manner to encourage retention in services
Refer to additional services as appropriate.
Function within an interdisciplinary team to provide high quality and evidenced based services
Participate in interdisciplinary team case conferences.
Participate in internal and external committees
Participate in internal and external CQI projects
Provide supervision to students based on agency need
Perform other duties, consistent with the goals and objectives of the program, as directed by Director Qualifications :
CASAC, Advance CASAC, Master Level CASAC (Dual Bachelor or Masters preferred)
Must be outcome oriented in a fast paced environment with deadlines
