A recognized services company in New Jersey is currently seeking an experienced Accounting professional to join their team as their new Technical Accounting Manager.
Responsibilities :
The Technical Accounting Manager will :
Research the impact of new or proposed accounting standards, interpretations or regulations from the SEC, FASB, AICPA, and EITF
Prepare timely, high quality white papers on all key technical matters for submission to the independent auditors and internal stakeholders and manage the timely resolution of financial reporting implications
Assist in preparing and maintaining an up-to-date library of accounting policies and procedures
Research business development technical accounting matters (both under US GAAP and IFRS) that could impact the estimated valuation of proposed transactions
Assist with review of new contracts and assess the accounting implications based on existing accounting standards, interpretations or regulations
Coordinate with business leadership on inquiries related to the application of accounting policies and other technical accounting matters, such as revenue recognition, leases, insurance recoveries, and asset impairments
Manage the coordination with external auditors and internal auditors to ensure timely resolution of outstanding matters
Lead cross-functional meetings with business stakeholders productively and in an organized fashion, and follow up on any commitments Qualifications :
7 years of relevant Accounting experience
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
CPA required
Experience with SEC filings
Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley and internal control concepts
Ability to analyze complex information / transactions, apply appropriate accounting theory, and formulate decisions / recommendations
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
Great interpersonal skills
