A recognized financial services firm in the Tristate area is currently seeking an experienced professional to join their staff as their new Master Data Management Lead. In this role, the Master Data Management Lead will be responsible for supporting the effective delivery of both short-term tactical solutions and longer-term strategic initiatives; pivotal in ensuring the control, quality, and availability of business data supporting various initiatives across the bank, with a strong emphasis on Data Standardization, Master Data Management (MDM), Party and Reference Data Management (RDM).
Responsibilities:
The Master Data Management Lead will:
- Lead efforts in Data Standardization, ensuring consistency and uniformity across all data sets
- Drive Master Data Management initiatives, including defining terms, identifying data stewards and owners, and ensuring authoritative data sources
- Implement and maintain a Master Data Management process, including identifying sources of record and managing data quality to transform the company's Party, Reference, and Market Data domains to one cohesive repository
- Analyze large volumes of data, identify patterns and inconsistencies, and document findings
- Support data cleanup efforts and weekly status tracking routines
- Assist with requirements gathering, validation testing, and data modeling for the firm's master/reference data management platform
- Manage a workflow queue of updates to master/reference data sets.
- Organize and maintain documentation and project deliverables
- Support the ongoing accuracy of Party and Reference Key Data Elements (KDEs) terms, definitions, and metadata in the firm's data governance catalog
- Champion SOR/ADS adoption of Party, Reference, and Market Data domains
Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience in data management and governance best practices
- Bachelor's Degree
- Proven expertise in Master Data Management, Party & Reference Data Management, Data Standardization and Governance best practices
- Proven ability to extracting large volumes of data for source-to-target comparison and analysis. Use fact patterns to identify, escalate, remediate, and monitor data quality issues
- Demonstrates an understanding of data management concepts - data quality, data lineage, data lifecycle, master/reference data management, metadata management
- Analytical, problem-solving, and logical reasoning skills with high attention to detail
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams
- Ability to influence people outside the immediate span of control, negotiate and resolve conflicts, and work with Front Office business users, IT partners and External vendors
Desired Skills:
- Experience in Financial Services industry
- Hands-on experience with Informatica
- Experience with SQL; data analysis and reporting tools such as Alteryx, Power BI
