A top government integrator is seeking a Sr. SOC Chief to support a large government integrator in Washington, DC.
About the Opportunity:
- Location: Onsite in Washington, DC (slight remote work possible)
- Contract Length: Open-ended contract to hour
- Hours: Core business (EST)
- U.S. Citizenship required - must pass federal background investigation for a Public Trust
- Active Public Trust Clearance or Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Primary Incident Commander for all cybersecurity incidents
- Oversee the Security Operations Center and coordinate all activities performed under Subtask Area 6.2.3.1 SOC
- Ensure the timeliness and quality of deliverables so that all information and data are accurate and complete
- Lead the Information Security GAP Analysis review and perform administrative functions such as reviewing performance and operations to ensure appropriate performance
- Ensure effective coordination, collaboration, and communication with ESOC and OCOS federal personnel
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 8 years of experience in Security Operations, Threat Detection, or Incident Response,
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field
- Previous experience in a Leadership role
- Prior experience managing SOC teams in a large enterprise or government environment
- Deep understanding of SIEM (Splunk, QRadar, Sentinel, ArcSight), SOAR (Palo Alto XSOAR, Cortex, Splunk Phantom), EDR/XDR (CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Microsoft Defender)
- Expertise in network security, log analysis, malware analysis, and forensic investigations
- Experience with cloud security monitoring (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and container security (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK, TTPs, and threat intelligence platforms
- Strong scripting and automation skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash
Desired Skills:
- One of the following certifications: CISSP, CISM, GIAC (GCIA, GCIH, GREM, GNFA), OSCP, or CEH.
- SOC-specific certifications such as Certified SOC Analyst (CSA), GCDA, or GSOC
