What are the responsibilities and job description for the Respiratory Therapist position at Tandym?
A health services network in North Carolina is seeking a new Respiratory Therapist to join their growing team in Pineville. In this role, the Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for performing all aspects of direct respiratory care, consulting the Physicians on the effectiveness of therapy, and making appropriate recommendations.
About the Opportunity :
Assignment Length : 13-week contract
Shift : Nights
Hours : 7pm to 7am
EMR : Epic
Responsibilities :
Administer therapeutic procedures, understanding the purpose and benefits, and possible effects associated with each
Perform diagnostic procedures as outlined in policy
Initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilators and non-invasive ventilators and is aware of the critical care duties and effects of such therapy
Independently evaluate current therapies using appropriate judgment and protocols, making proper recommendations concerning plans of care and patient education needs
Document therapy and results as required by hospital, department and regulatory agencies
Communicates information to appropriate members of the healthcare team
Initiate, conduct, and modifies respiratory care techniques in an emergency setting
Perform and evaluate blood sampling analysis with a thorough understanding of the values, and the importance and treatment of abnormal results
Complete annual proficiency evaluation of respiratory care equipment and procedure
Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications :
Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Respiratory Care and / or Associate's Degree in Health Science
State License as Respiratory Care Practitioner required (must be licensed in state of practice)
RRT (NBRC) required
ACLS BLS, and PALS (AHA or ARC) certification
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
