An acute care facility in Syracuse, NY is looking to fill an immediate need with the addition of a new Surgical Technologist.

About the Opportunity :

  • Shift : Days or Evenings
  • Schedule : 5 shifts per week (including weekends & holidays)
  • Hours : 7am to 3 : 30pm or 3pm to 11 : 30pm
  • Setting : Acute Care

Responsibilities :

  • Gather, check, and organize all necessary surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment
  • Sterilize equipment and maintain a sterile field
  • Assist with patient prepping, including skin cleansing and draping
  • Perform instrument and sponge counts before surgery
  • Anticipate the surgeon's needs and efficiently pass instruments and supplies
  • Monitor blood loss and fluid levels
  • Assist with handling specimens
  • Maintain a sterile field throughout the procedure
  • Perform final instrument and sponge counts
  • Clean and prepare instruments for sterilization
  • Assist with room cleanup and preparation for the next patient

    • Qualifications :

  • 3 years of recent experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Center
  • BLS certification
  • Experience with robotics, Neuro, Ortho, General, ENT, Vascular, GYN cases
  • Scrub experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

    • Desired Skills :

  • Surgical Technologist certification
  • Prior experience in an Inpatient setting
