Description
The Material Handler for Finished Goods Operations plays a crucial role in our manufacturing process. The primary responsibility of this role is to safely and efficiently move finished goods within the facility using a sit-down forklift.
Role and Responsibilities / Essential Functions
- Operate sit-down forklifts for loading, unloading, and moving finished.
- Stage oversized pallets in a structured manner to facilitate safe and easy pickup.
- Confirm the accuracy of orders prior to dispatch.
- Effectively communicate with colleagues to coordinate tasks and ensure operational smoothness.
- Perform additional duties such as inventory, BOL creation, and other tasks as assigned.
- Adherence to all safety guidelines to maintain a safe and secure work environment.
- Participate in ongoing training and skill development programs. Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promptly report any operational inefficiencies or safety hazards to the supervisor.
Requirements
Required Skills / Abilities / Competencies
- Measurement Skills: Basic math and measurement skills are essential.
- Forklift: Minimum 1-2 years of sit-down forklift experience.
- Coordination: Ability to collaborate with team members to achieve department goals and ensure workflow efficiency.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- A minimum of one year of sustained employment in a warehouse environment is highly preferred.
Mental/Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs unassisted
- Capable of working in high heat conditions.
- Role includes regularly stepping up/down to enter/exit forklifts. Occasional stooping, kneeling, and crouching. Regular standing and movement within the facility.
