The Tooling Technician ensures machinery is set up, works properly, and conforms with (and can produce materials that conform with) company quality, quantity, and efficiency standards. They are responsible for the daily maintenance, upkeep and repair of all dies, fixtures and tools. Ensure that dies / sizers are always in working condition. Facilitate tooling set up, movement, and storage for line operators. Maximize rotation and machine up time efficiency through additional tooling needs, machine settings, and prestaging set up plugs to increase pounds manufactured for all lines.
Role and Responsibilities / Essential Functions
- Maximize rotation and machine up time efficiency through planning and organizing of tooling needs
- Maintain organization of set up and tool and die storage
- Maintain tooling through proper maintenance channels when required
- Disassemble dies / sizers / mixers to prepare for cleaning, repair and storage in appropriate inventory locations
- Light tooling maintenance
- Maintenance requests and staging for repair needs
- Maintain organization of tooling storage locations
- Verify and adjust extruders to optimum settings for specific tooling
- Follow all safety procedures and support all safety projects
