The Role : We are seeking a highly motivated Harvest Fabrication & Engineering Intern to join our maintenance team and assist in the development and optimization of harvesting equipment for the agricultural industry. In this role, you will work alongside engineers to design, test, and improve machinery that enhances the efficiency and sustainability of crop harvesting. You will be involved in analyzing harvesting processes, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and conducting field tests to ensure that equipment performs effectively in diverse agricultural environments. This internship offers hands-on experience in agricultural engineering, machine design, and process optimization, making it an excellent opportunity for students interested in the intersection of technology and agriculture.
Location(s) : Salinas, CA
Areas of Responsibility :
- Equipment Design and Testing : Assist in the design, prototyping, and testing of harvesting machinery, including evaluating performance in various field conditions to optimize efficiency and reliability.
- Mechanical Troubleshooting and Maintenance : Support the engineering team in diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues in harvesting equipment, performing routine maintenance and repairs as necessary.
- Data Collection and Analysis : Gather data during field tests, such as machine performance, crop yield, and operational efficiency, and analyze this data to provide insights for improving equipment design.
- Collaboration and Documentation : Work closely with engineers and farm operations teams to ensure machinery meets practical needs. Document testing procedures, results, and recommendations for continuous improvements in harvesting processes.
